Here are some tips to prepare your arrival and enjoy your stay in Toulouse.

Visa

If you are a non-European citizen, you need a visa to study in France. Citizens from one of the 42 countries subject to the “Études en France” procedure can apply for a long stay visa valid as a residence permit for students (VLS-TS “Étudiant”, Visa long séjour valant titre de séjour) or a student temporary long term visa (VLS-T).

Healthcare

During your stay in France, you will need a health insurance. If you are a citizen from an E.U. country or from Iceland, Norway, Switzerland or Lichtenstein, you can request a European health insurance card in your country of origin.

Non-European citizens must register to the French general social security system after enrolling to ICT:

Wherever you come from, we strongly recommend that you subscribe to a complementary health insurance which includes a civil liability for both your private and student life.

Budget

he cost of living in Toulouse is relatively high, so prepare your budget accordingly. On average, people spend 300€/month for food.
Accommodation costs range from 300€ to 500€, depending on the kind of housing. Opening a French bank account is recommended.

Accommodation

Every student coming by a partner university must fill the « Room booking » part, of the Application Form. You will find information and links in our Fact Sheet. If you need help, feel free to contact the International Office.

Preparing your arrival at ICT

    Public transports

    Once you arrive in Toulouse, we recommend to ask for a « Pastel card » at Tisséo for your daily
    trips in the city. Tisséo is the public transportation network. It includes 2 metro lines, 2
    tram lines, 145 bus lines. With a Pastel card, you can buy a monthly or annual subscription for
    unlimited trips on the whole network. If you are under 26, the monthly subscription costs 15,30€
    and the annual subscription 153€. The Pastel card costs 8€.

    You are an international student and you would like to study at Institut
    Catholique de Toulouse but your university
    does not have any agreement with us?
    Institut Catholique de Toulouse welcomes you! Experience French
    university in the heart of Toulouse in a human-size campus.

    Before any application to join our university, you need to follow the enrolment procedure on Campus France. Once your application has been accepted by
    ICT, you will have to proceed with administrative formalities at the French Embassy. Please be aware that
    you will have to pay ICT tuition fees.

    You will have to organise all your stay in France before, during and after your study period at ICT.

    Please note that ICT gives priority to international students from partner universities, and encourages
    mobility in the context of exchange programme agreements.
